Gay Rights in Washington State
- New Geography

Demographer/Reality check guy Richard Morrill writes, and maps, on the recent passage of the Washington State everything but marriage act gay rights bill.

While the subject is up, let me add my own .02 - I like the idea of State Civil Unions - for everybody. The State has no business in defining a marriage, only the most basic of rights, leave that up to the couple themselves and whomever, or whatever, they choose to associate with.

Lastly, the influence of Dan Savage's gay oriented 'Stranger' publication cannot be denied, winning every election endorsement in November 2009 in both urban Seattle and County wide, save for the County Assessor's race.
