Curiously, the Seattle P-I takes to task the Seattle City Council for taking up the issue of 'junk' mail. The idea is to create a 'do not mail' list, much like the very popular 'do not call' list concerning telephone marketing.
The article notes that this item is largely outside of the authority of the Council, which is true enough. But what is wrong with the body taking up the discussion of the issue? One thing for sure, there are a lot of environmental benefits to stopping this unwanted contact.
