The Charlotte, North Carolina business paper reports that shareholders are challenging Bank of America, hq'd in that City, over the prudency of the takeover of bankrupt Merrill Lynch and certain responses to government requests in that transaction.
Hopefully BofA can constructively respond to these well thought complaints and continue as the strongest large bank in this Country.
BTW, thanks to North Carolina for standing up to the abuses of Michael NiFong. Here in Washington that stuff has become such standard practice that they've taken over the King County Courts, the State AG and much of their respective governments - including the UW where they actually teach how to apply these tactics in the bureaucracies of local businesses - including WAMU.
Go Figure.
Trivia Observation - note that Charlotte is just about the same size as the greater Seattle Metropolitan area.
