Sound Transit has set a policy of no parking at its Seattle stations - including creating residential parking zones around stations. This has been the policy for some time, curiously at about the same time the parking garage was built downtown for Nordstrom with HUD money.
Why not have park and ride lots at our neighborhood business districts? They would support local business - perhaps even day care providers - while also supporting the use of transit. Sure, it is a cost, but as it stands now it makes the agency look like just another bunch of car-haters.
